The Sauna is Back — And It’s Been Worth the Wait
Sauna Hire: After 30 years, one of Somerton Squash Club’s most beloved features has been lovingly restored and is ready to welcome members once again. Our stunning western red cedar sauna has been fully renovated and is now back in use — and if you haven’t experienced it yet, you’re in for a treat.

Saunas are Good for the Body, Good for the Soul
Regular sauna use has been shown to support a wide range of health benefits — from improved circulation and muscle recovery to reduced stress and better sleep. After a hard-fought game of squash, there’s no better way to wind down than 45 minutes of heat, steam, and silence. Whether you’re looking to ease sore muscles or simply carve out some quiet time, the sauna is a wonderful addition to your post-court routine.
An Old-School Hot Rocks Sauna Done Right
This isn’t your average gym sauna. Fully lined in beautiful western red cedar — walls, benches, and yes, even the ceiling — our sauna is a proper, traditional hot rocks experience. Think steaming hot rocks, a wooden bucket, and a ladle to pour water and create that deeply satisfying sizzling steam. It’s the kind of sauna that instantly transports you, the sort that’s increasingly hard to find. Large, authentic, and built to last another 30 years.

How to Book the Sauna
Booking the sauna is simple — it works exactly like booking a squash court. Head to our booking calendar at somertonsquash.skedda.com/
After 7pm, the sauna is open to all members on a drop-in basis — no booking required, just come and enjoy.
Sauna access is included in your membership at no extra cost, which is just one more reason it’s great to be part of the Somerton Squash community.
